What is self-regulation?

Mood shifting and state-changing for optimal living. Self-regulation is the ability to alter internal chemistry and to upshift or downshift the nervous system as necessary. 

Through many practices, we shift between the stress response and the rest and digest response to gain more conscious control over what is typically considered an autonomic function. Over time, we become more and more adept at navigating challenging experiences and maintaining joyful moods.
